Henry Ottman

A venerator of Renoir's painting, Ottmann, a delicate colorist with an expression full of sensitivity, was long ignored by collectors, but has recently been rediscovered and widely appreciated.
He debuted at the Salon de la Libre Esthetique à Bruxelles, in 1904 and participated in the Salon des Indépendants starting in 1905, where his works were always noticed.
He also exhibited at the Salon d'Automne, Societé Nationale des Beaux-Arts and des Tuileries. A venerator of Renoir's painting, Ottmann, a delicate colorist with an expression full of sensitivity, was long ignored by collectors, but has recently been rediscovered and widely appreciated.
After gaining notoriety he purged his style and simplified drawing and color. He was a remarkable painter of still lifes, female figures, and expressed himself wonderfully in nudes.
